Terms & Conditions
1. Definitions
- "Plum Residence" / "We" / "Us" — refers to the residential home operated at 25 Tai Wai Road, Sha Tin, New Territories, Hong Kong.
- "Resident" — an older adult who lives at Plum Residence on a long-term or introductory basis.
- "Participant" — a person attending a programme such as Garden & Nature Mornings without full residential status.
- "Family" — a resident's or participant's family member or appointed representative.
- "Services" — residential living arrangements, activity programmes, and introductory stays offered by Plum Residence.
- "Agreement" — these Terms & Conditions, together with any written service agreement signed between the parties.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By engaging with Plum Residence's services — whether by submitting an enquiry, booking a Welcome Stay, enrolling in a programme, or entering into a residential arrangement — you confirm that you have read and understood these Terms & Conditions and agree to be bound by them. Residential services are available to individuals aged 18 and over. Enquiries on behalf of a prospective resident may be made by family members or authorised representatives.
3. Service Description
Plum Residence offers the following services:
- Heartwood Residence — long-term residential living for older adults, including a private room, three daily meals, housekeeping, laundry, activities, and staff companionship. HK$14,600/month.
- Garden & Nature Mornings — a three-morning outdoor programme for older adults. HK$1,800/month.
- One-Week Welcome Stay — a seven-day introductory residential stay with full access to all services. HK$4,500/week.
Plum Residence does not provide medical, nursing, or clinical services. We are a non-medical residential home.
4. Enquiries and Bookings
Enquiries do not constitute a binding commitment on either party. A residential arrangement or programme enrolment is confirmed only upon written agreement between Plum Residence and the resident or their representative, together with the required deposit or advance payment.
5. Payment Terms
All fees are quoted and payable in Hong Kong Dollars (HKD). Payment terms for each arrangement:
- Heartwood Residence: monthly fee payable in advance on the first of each month
- Garden & Nature Mornings: monthly fee payable in advance at the start of each calendar month
- One-Week Welcome Stay: full fee payable prior to the commencement of the stay
Late payments may result in suspension of services at Plum Residence's discretion.
6. Cancellation and Refunds
- Welcome Stay: Cancellations made more than 7 days before the start date will receive a full refund. Cancellations within 7 days of the start date are non-refundable.
- Heartwood Residence: One full month's notice is required to end a residential arrangement. Fees paid for the notice period are non-refundable.
- Garden & Nature Mornings: Monthly programme fees are non-refundable once the month has commenced.
Plum Residence reserves the right to amend these terms in exceptional circumstances and will communicate any changes in writing.
7. Resident and Participant Responsibilities
Residents and participants are expected to:
- Treat staff, other residents, and shared spaces with consideration and respect
- Comply with reasonable house guidelines as communicated by the team
- Notify Plum Residence of any changes in health status that may be relevant to safety or the nature of care required
- Ensure that a nominated family member or representative is contactable
8. Intellectual Property
All content on the Plum Residence website — including text, imagery, and design — is the property of Plum Residence. Reproduction without written permission is not permitted. Residents and families are welcome to share photographs taken within the home for personal use.
9. Disclaimer
Plum Residence provides residential care and activities in good faith. We do not offer medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Families are responsible for ensuring that a prospective resident's needs are compatible with the non-medical nature of our services.
While we take every reasonable care, Plum Residence cannot accept liability for minor personal property items brought into the home. We recommend that valuable items remain with family members.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by Hong Kong law, Plum Residence's liability in any matter arising from the provision of services shall be limited to the fees paid for the period in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
11. Termination
Either party may end a residential or programme arrangement by providing written notice as specified in Section 6. Plum Residence reserves the right to end an arrangement with immediate effect in circumstances where a resident or participant's behaviour poses a risk to the safety or wellbeing of others.
12. Dispute Resolution
We hope all concerns can be resolved through open conversation. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. These Terms & Conditions are governed by Hong Kong law.
13. Changes to These Terms
Plum Residence may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated in writing to existing residents and participants. Continued use of services following notification of changes constitutes acceptance.
